ANNABELLA BUCHELI

A CAREER SYNOPSIS

Self-taught Entrepreneur, Multi-Disciplinary Designer, Publisher, writer, and eventually Developer, Annabella Bucheli opened her first company, Belle Décor, while still a teenage student in her native country of Chile.

During what was intended to be a short business trip to the United States, she opened her first studio in Miami, Florida, as an extension of the company already operating in Chile.  ABA Architettura e Disegno Inc. and Belle Décor, Inc. were the two companies she founded in Miami to serve its International and local clientele.

She met with immediate success, designing for prestigious clients on elegant Fisher Island. Soon after, she was hired by Mr. Bebe Rebozo, friend and confidante to President Richard Nixon. He commissioned her to design and supervise the development of his 9,500 square foot waterfront residence, including a private retreat for President Nixon. She guided the construction and complete design of the project.

Along with her husband, Argentinian lawyer Alessio Antonacci, she expanded the list of projects and international clientele. They signed an exclusive agreement with Alitalia Airlines to design and produce Volare, the first English-Italian in-flight destination magazine for the airline. In less than a year, Volare was nominated as “Best Magazine” in the United States, garnering personal praise from then-Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Her professional portfolio continued to grow, to include hotels and resorts, state of the art marinas, parks, pools, urban development, landscaping and furniture design. She supported these projects with complete project management services, providing her exclusive clients with turn-key service in every desired field.

The opening of the 7,000 square foot showroom in the Miami Design District, with unique pieces from around the world, personally selected by Annabella, was dubbed the “The Ultimate Showroom Experience” by the industry media. It became the site for a series of TV interviews with renowned entertainers and celebrities.

Well known figures quickly became members of a select clientele, including the Grimaldi family from Europe, several NBA stars and tennis great Boris Becker, among others. Designs in Contemporary, Greek, Mediterranean, Classic and Zen Fusion brought out the best of residential projects as large as 19,500 square feet  and hospitality projects in faraway exotic islands.

Working with Neil Hall, then AIA President, and architect Richard Benzequen, Annabella Bucheli created a revitalization design plan for the Miami Design District. The plan was accepted by the community and later implemented by the University of Miami.

Two high profile projects earned Annabella Bucheli rave reviews. She undertook the successful design and completion of The Bentley Hotel on Ocean Drive. It became an immediate attraction for the rich and famous, including Ivana Trump, Madonna, Ricky Martin, Britney Spears, Diana Ross and John Travolta, among others.  She also completed a luxurious penthouse in the Decoplage Building, along with the remodeling of the Penthouse common areas.

Both projects were featured in two-hour specials on the Family Channel and were widely distributed throughout Latin America and Europe. Her work has graced the covers of Florida Design Magazine and Florida Architecture Magazine. She has also been featured in the Miami Herald, Casa y Estilo, Vivir Con Estilo, Miami Home and Décor and several local TV features.

When new challenges drew her attention to the Caribbean, she developed 25 turn-key oceanfront residences in Antigua, and undertook the development  and marketing of a Hi-end private resort community with Marina and private Airport on a 1,000 acre island in the Atlantic basin.

These projects have inspired Annabella Bucheli to explore the logistics of complex, high-end design and construction projects in remote locations. Calling upon her wealth of experience across design and construction, she has become acutely attuned to the logistics of construction, materials acquisition and delivery of refined environmental detail in hard to reach locales offering unique geographical challenges and opportunities, which she has transformed into some truly unique propositions:

The BALINESE Villas, The ZEN Villas, The ISLANDER Turn-Key

Having absorbed numerous cultures and architectural genres, Annabella Bucheli designed her most encompassing creation, The Balinese and Zen Villas.

Created for the most demanding and discerning clientele, these turn-key fully customized projects, with their two contrasting styles, offer a fresh response to the growing need for living environments that are not only uniquely beautiful, but also nourishing to the spirit.

Utilizing the latest technology, minimalist design and highest quality materials, the Villas are true sanctuaries that gently frame the surrounding nature, but are built to withstand the strongest forces of nature. They appeal to those who value luxury, privacy and a touch of the exotic.

And, considering the needs of so many, who fascinated by exotic locales, purchase property there, only to find out the uphill challenges to furnish and finish their places on a remote location, her company, by the end of 2020 will start offering to this exceptional market, a complete turn-key approach for the completion of these environmentally sensitive structures in isolated communities, integrating the best of ancient trades, refined design and cutting-edge technology.  The ISLANDER Turn-Key, is offered to Annabella’s clients as well as the Hi-End Hospitality Industry for the same locales.

This venture promises the same high-end, seamless quality Annabella has delivered to her clients through the years.

Her company currently caters to high-end hospitality facilities, private clients, and Mega Yachts industry, where impeccable design, technology and respect for the planet and its inhabitants is a priority.
